Gates and railings in Truro

Traditional railings and bespoke metal gates for Truro’s period homes, gardens and commercial buildings, made to measure in our Cornish workshop.

Railings that suit a Georgian city

Truro’s streets of Georgian and Victorian townhouses are made for good railings: spear tops or fleur-de-lys along the front area, a matching gate to the steps, ironwork fixed neatly into granite. Where the originals have been lost or damaged, new railings in the right style bring the frontage back together.

We make traditional railings with the proportions and details that suit the building, and shape them to follow curved corners and sloping streets.

Conservation areas and listed buildings

Much of central Truro is a conservation area, with many listed buildings. Replacing railings on a listed building, or within its grounds, needs listed building consent. Conservation areas can bring other restrictions too. Talk to Cornwall Council early. We can give you design details to support your application.

Outside the city centre we make driveway gates, garden gates and garden railings for homes in Kenwyn, Malpas, Threemilestone and the villages around.
