Celtic Connexions is Steve Brown’s metalwork business, based at Sandylands Farm in Egloshayle, just outside Wadebridge, and trading for over 20 years. We make one thing well: metal gates and railings, each built for a particular opening, wall or terrace.
Steve looks after every job personally, so you deal with the same person from your first phone call to the finished installation.
Cornish properties are rarely square. Openings taper, walls lean, drives slope and old granite never sits level. Every gate and every run of railings we make is measured on site and built to fit, so it hangs straight, swings true and looks as if it has always been there.

Made to cope with wind, rain and salt
Metalwork near the Cornish coast has a hard life. Salt-laden air, driving rain and exposed, windy sites will find out any weak spot in a gate or railing.
That is why we take care over the parts you don’t see: solid welds, gates that are properly braced so they don’t drop, hinges and posts sized for the weight, and a protective finish suited to where the metalwork will live. We can supply railings galvanised, painted or both, in black or a colour of your choice.

How much does a bespoke metal gate cost?
Every gate is made to measure, so the price depends on the width of the opening, the design, the finish and how it’s hung. A simple garden gate costs far less than a pair of arched driveway gates with decorative infill. Tell us the rough size and style you have in mind and we’ll give you a clear, written quote.
Do you fit the gates and railings as well as make them?
Yes. We measure, make and fit everything we supply, and Steve personally looks after every job from start to finish.
Can you match new railings to my existing gate?
Usually, yes. Send us a photo or two. Matching bar spacing, finials and details to existing metalwork is something we do often.
