About Celtic Connexions

A Cornish metalwork business with over 20 years of trading behind it, working from a workshop at Egloshayle near Wadebridge and making bespoke gates and railings for homes, churches and businesses across Cornwall.

Meet Steve

Your point of contact, start to finish

“I’m Steve Brown, and I’ve run Celtic Connexions for over 20 years.

When you ring, you get me. I’ll come out to see the job, work out the design with you, and look after it all the way through to fitting. I bring in trusted tradespeople when a job needs them, but I’m your point of contact from start to finish, so what we agree on the day is exactly what you get.

These days I specialise in gates and railings. I make them week in, week out, so I’ve got the designs, the details and the fitting down to a fine art. You get a better gate, made and fitted without fuss.”

Over 20 years in Cornwall

From structural steel to gates and railings

Celtic Connexions has been trading in Cornwall for more than 20 years. Over that time we’ve made all kinds of architectural and structural steelwork across the county, including staircases, balconies, balustrades and steel frames, as well as gates and railings.

Two decades of that work teaches you how Cornish buildings are put together, what the weather does to steel, and how to fix metalwork into granite, slate and old stone walls so it stays put.

Today we specialise in what we do best: gates and railings. Making them all the time means we know the designs, the details and the pitfalls inside out, from the first site visit to the last bolt.

How we work

One point of contact

You deal with Steve from first call to final fitting. He brings in trusted tradespeople when a job needs them, but he oversees every job personally, so nothing is lost in translation.

Made to measure

We don’t hold stock gates or sell standard sizes. Everything is designed for your opening, wall or terrace, and made in our own workshop.

Made for Cornwall

We know what the weather here does to metal, and what old granite, slate and Cornish hedges are like to fix into. Every job is built with that in mind.

Our workshop

We work from The Workshops at Sandylands Farm, Egloshayle, just across the Camel from Wadebridge. It’s central enough to reach anywhere in Cornwall, and close to the Camel estuary towns where much of our work is.

If you’d like to talk through a job, call 07971 671573. If we’re in the workshop or out fitting, leave a message and we’ll call you back.
