Padstow & the Camel estuary
Gates and railings in Padstow
Bespoke gates, balcony railings and garden railings for Padstow homes, cottages and holiday lets, made a few miles up the Camel at our workshop near Wadebridge.
Metalwork for a harbour town
Padstow’s mix of slate-hung cottages, harbour-side terraces and newer houses looking over the estuary suits well-made metalwork. Traditional railings suit the older streets, and simple, strong balcony railings suit homes built for the view.
Many Padstow properties are holiday lets or second homes. We can arrange the site visit and fitting around bookings, and we’re happy to deal with owners who live away, sending photos as the work goes in.

Built for the salt air
On the estuary, metalwork takes a battering from salt, wind and rain. For Padstow we nearly always recommend hot-dip galvanising, then paint on top if you want a colour. The galvanising protects the steel even where the paint gets chipped, so a scratch doesn’t turn into a rust streak down your render.
Padstow town centre is a conservation area. If you’re replacing gates or railings on an older building there, or near one that’s listed, check with Cornwall Council first. We can give you the design details your application will need.
